古墳時代後期の築造と考えられます。昭和33年(1958)から3ヵ年にわたって発掘調査を行いました。岩塚古墳(円墳)は径推定15m、山石と川石を用いて築いた横穴式石室の中に、凝灰岩をくりぬいた家形石棺をおいています。
It is believed to have been built in the late Kofun period. Excavation was conducted for three years from 1958. The Iwatsuka Tumulus (circular burial mound) is estimated to be 15m in diameter, and houses a house-shaped sarcophagus carved out of tuff in a horizontal stone chamber built using mountain and river stones.
